Individual Course Drops
The Georgia Institute of Technology has one deadline for individual course drops and a different deadline for complete withdrawals from school. See the Academic Calendar > for
the term for dates.
- ALL HOLDS MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE A STUDENT CAN DROP A COURSE OR WITHDRAW FROM SCHOOL.
- THERE IS NO REFUND FOR DROPPED COURSES. A STUDENT MUST COMPLETELY WITHDRAW FROM SCHOOL, BY THE DEADLINE, IN ORDER TO QUALIFY
FOR A REFUND.
- STUDENTS WHO ARE FULL TIME (AT LEAST 12 HOURS) AND WITHDRAW FROM A COURSE(S) WHICH TAKES THEM BELOW 12 HOURS, WILL NO LONGER BE CONSIDERED FULL TIME. EX: A STUDENT IS REGISTERED FOR 12 HOURS AND WITHDRAWS FROM ONE 3 HOUR COURSE, THAT STUDENT IS NO LONGER CONSIDERED FULL TIME.
- IF THERE IS AN ALLEGED ACADEMIC INTEGRITY VIOLATION PENDING, THE STUDENT MAY NOT DROP THE CLASS. THE STATUS OF THE ALLEGED VIOLATION IS DEFINED AS “PENDING” WHEN AN INCIDENT HAS BEEN SUBMITTED TO THE OFFICE OF STUDENT INTEGRITY AND HAS GENERATED AN ELECTRONIC “SUSPECTED ACADEMIC MISCONDUCT” NOTICE THAT HAS BEEN SENT TO THE STUDENT. IF THE STUDENT IS FOUND RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PROHIBITED ACADEMIC CONDUCT, HE/SHE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO DROP THE CLASS.
- IF THE STUDENT IS FOUND RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PROHIBITED ACADEMIC CONDUCT IN A CLASS, HE/SHE WILL ALSO NOT BE ALLOWED TO WITHDRAW FROM THE TERM.
