CAPP Instructions

CAPP (Curriculum, Advising and Program Planning) is a new on-line advisement system for undergraduate students. Students can use this system to track progress toward a degree or perform a "what-if" scenario prior to making a change in major.

CAPP IS A BETA TEST SYSTEM. Any questions that you have regarding your individual record should be discussed with your major school advisor.

PLEASE NOTE: You cannot graduate until your degree petition has been approved by both your major school and the Registrar's Office.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ACCESSING CAPP:

  1. Go to https://oscar.gatech.edu
  2. Select "Secured Access Login"
  3. Select "Student Services and Financial Aid"
  4. Select "Student Records"
  5. Select "CAPP - Advisement and Degree Audit"

Helpful Hints:

If your major is "Undecided", you will need to use the "What-If Analysis" and select a program.

If your major is ARCH, your program is listed as "Bachelor of Science" in the pull-down list.

Each time that you wish to run a CAPP compliance, you should click on "Generate New Evaluation" so that any changes to your record will be reflected. The term that you use should be the most recent term for which you have registered. CAPP not only utilizes courses that you have taken, but also uses current and future registrations to satisfy requirements. Of course, no course can be used toward fulfilling graduation requirements unless you pass the course with the required grade.

CAPP will default to your current major and catalog year. If you wish to change any of this information, select the "What-If Analysis" option. For example, of you plan to graduate under the 1999-2001 catalog, select "What-If Analysis" and choose Fall 1999 as the term for evaluation.

CAPP cannot use quarter and semester credits simultaneously. The earliest term for which you can run a CAPP compliance is Fall 1999, the term Georgia Tech converted to the semester system. If you have quarter credits, your major school advisor will assist you in determining how those credits will apply toward your degree.

Terminology:

CAPP compliance = output that displays how courses taken will fulfill degree requirements.

Program = degree (ex. BS in International Affairs)
